The final took place last Wednesday at Costa’s roastery in Lambeth, London.
Elia competed with 10 other finalists to eventually be awarded third place in the contest. Contestants had travelled from China, India, the Middle East and around Europe for the final.
Elia’s professionalism impressed the judges, as did his specially created drink, called Anima Nera, which is a double espresso with an infusion of mint, liquorice and star anise, which he says reflects his Irish and Italian connections.
So far there has been some great coverage of Elia in the Irish media, including a feature in the Evening Echo and the Irish Star.
